Hungary football in the city of Szolniki will be getting a new stadium at some point in the future, but at present only a quarter of it is finished. At the old stadium, there are a loyal group of about 500 fans who attend practically every game, and in typical Eastern European fashion they all eat bird seeds at the games.
This is similar to the American tradition of eating sunflower seeds at baseball games, and yet the fact that it is birdseed can make it seem strange to an American traveler. At the games the fans tend to mostly talk and eat, but there is not the typical singing, chanting and atmosphere that tend to accompany games at larger venues. The football stadium in Maribor, Slovenia is mainly very modern and good-looking. The plan is to do some needed renovations on this stadium but like everywhere else, they need money first.

Local newswire MTI reported on Monday, 11th July that the Budapest Municipality has reached an agreement about underground metro cars for Hungary with French train manufacturer Alstom, after a lengthy debate.
Budapest has pushed a 12-point package of proposals, while earlier Alstom had already agreed to 11. A deal on the last point which is a force major case has only been sealed now. The final contract is lined up to be discussed on Thursday afternoon at a closed meeting by the General Assembly of the Budapest Municipality. The details of the final agreement have not yet been disclosed.
The Budapest Transport Company (BKV) annulled its contract with Alstom on 20 October 2010. Under the deal, which had been inked in May 2006, the French engineering company was to deliver 22 trains for Budapest's Metro2 line for EUR 150 million and 22 trains (15+7) for the new fourth metro line, which is still under construction, for EUR 114 m, but as it fell short in obtaining the type approval for the manufacturing of the cars, Budapest Transport Company terminated the deal.

The Art Nouveau walk in Budapest has attracted crowds and is extremely popular these days. These are guided tours which show the tourists around the Art Nouveau architecture of Budapest; they are free of cost and are held every Saturday.
The places which are shown around are buildings made by Art Nouveau architect, Odon Lechner; this is the architect who is widely acclaimed for designing structures that blend motifs of the international styles and Hungarian art, thus creating a new design. The places that are shown to visitors are the Museum of Applied Arts, Budapest (this is a must-visit for anyone visiting Budapest). Other places that are a part of the tour include Lechner's Post Savings Bank near Kossuth Square which is a Budapest landmark, the Geology Institute, with its shimmering blue Zsolnay ceramic roof tiles.
Other Budapest attractions include the Gellert Baths at Gellert Hill, and amazing buildings like the Torok Bank in Szervita Square.
This walk in Budapest was sponsored by Hungarofest-an event organizer- and was organized just for 60 odd people; even then around 150 people turned up each time.
