Hungary Football Stadium

Hungary Football Stadium

Hungary football in the city of Szolniki will be getting a new stadium at some point in the future, but at present only a quarter of it is finished. At the old stadium, there are a loyal group of about 500 fans who attend practically every game, and in typical Eastern European fashion they all eat bird seeds at the games.

This is similar to the American tradition of eating sunflower seeds at baseball games, and yet the fact that it is birdseed can make it seem strange to an American traveler. At the games the fans tend to mostly talk and eat, but there is not the typical singing, chanting and atmosphere that tend to accompany games at larger venues. The football stadium in Maribor, Slovenia is mainly very modern and good-looking. The plan is to do some needed renovations on this stadium but like everywhere else, they need money first.
